2012 Clergy Meeting and Reception of New Bishops  For The Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and the British Isles

Updated: Aug 11/24.

With the blessing of His Beatitude, Metropolitan JOHN, on Saturday and Sunday, August 12/25 and 13/26th, the Bishops of the Autonomous Metropolitan Church of North and South America and the British Isles will meet in both New York and New Jersey for the reception, elevation, and assignment of jurisdictional rank of four new Bishops to assist in the proper canonical governance of the regions of the Americas.

Two Bishops shall be assigned for South America, and two for North America– one for Canada, and one for the United States.

The Synod has been preparing for this event for approximately six months and the time has come to make an announcement so that the Orthodox people of our Synod and all interested True Orthodox Christians may make preparations to attend this joyous event.

Festivities will take place at the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ-on-the-Mount in Woodstock, NY, one of our oldest Churches and a landmark in the town of Woodstock on Saturday, and in New York City on Sunday. Lodging will be at the beautiful Comfort Inn in nearby Saugerties.

Transportation will be provided to all events. Lunch and Dinner over Saturday and Sunday will be communal at a local restaurant, bearing in mind the Dormition Fast.
