Feast of Sts. Cosmas and Damian

On the Western Rite Orthodox Calendar, this Thursday, September 27th (OS) / October 10th (NS), is celebrated the Feast of the Holy Unmercernary Physicians and Martyrs, Sts. Cosmas and Damian. The Holy Martyrs were brothers, and are celebrated for their practice of offering medical treatment free of charge, and standing fast for the Holy Orthodox Christian Faith, even until death. They were Martyred during the time of the Diocletian Persecution.
